  • Project Status
    • “ndsd” core dump on mdsoti update:  Novell promises to have a bug fix by the EOM.
    • “directory.fsu.edu” is ready to become “ldap.fsu.edu” (would still like to “siege” load test, though).  Added in redirects on fsuid.fsu.edu/search.  Note this search engine (iPlanet/mod_perl) uses the new “public employee/private student” search style.  Raised issue: remove student’s division and major?
    • Outstanding FSUID ßà Win AD identity management work for UCS TEC, US WSG & College of Medicine.  Wolfgang Adolph is also interested.
    • Ready to start using Fran’s PL/SQL bridge for FSUID account creation.  We need other functions currently handled by http://cars.acns.fsu.edu (under account maintenance) so they can be “natively” put under http://fsuid.fsu.edu.
    • ERP/BusObj ready to start using FSUIDs again for BusObj authentication.
    • Got FSUID authentication working on experimental WebDAV interface for IS software repository (http://bbdev.ais.fsu.edu/repository).
    • “Bb as Portal”: moved from “projects2.ais.fsu.edu” to “bbdev.ais.fsu.edu”; “wussup.oodl.fsu.edu” now points to this faster Resin environment.  Need to tweak this version of Secure Login to add a parameter that would allow SL admins to bring up particular apps in their windows (the “Career Portfolio” effect).  (Would love to show this off at next “Bb as Portal” meeting on April 8th).
    • More BlueSocket work outstanding from Clint & Sherry: wildcard searches (look for an FSUID across all BSockets; wildcard on name, host, IP and MAC address; sort by columns “currate”, “role_id”, “at”, “name”, etc.); add new BSocket IP column.
  • Action Items
    1. Set up “account disable-izer” script to clean up Windows AD accounts on a per-domain basis (former students, employees, etc.).
    2. Set up an “account disable-izer” script for former employees (compare daily PeopleSoft HR extracts).
    3. Work with UCS TEC and User Services Windows System Group to set up automation of account management within their respective AD domains.
    4. Get LDAP authentication working under AIX 5.2 (either natively using secldapclntd or using open source packages) – Sean Patronis has this as an action item now.
    5. [Group – longer term] Continue working SSN à FSUSN replacement discussions with campus.  Pushing in IS out to customers to start using FSUSN which is now populated in USER_ACCOUNT.  Secure Login beginning to use FSUSN in place of SSN.  FSUID now offers FSUCard/FSUSN as a possible authentication method.  First user: new on-line grades app???
