Metadirectory Technical Status Meeting

Upgraded the two development and five production eDirs to 8.7.3.6. This includes the memory bug fix, supposedly. Fine tuned memory cache value on mdsoti; currently at 1 GB (from previous of 256MB) there and 2 GB on others. Holding steady.
Removed Secure Login “webname” as an authentication method on fsuid.fsu.edu; precursor to elimination of all but FSUID authentication with switch of Secure Login to Bb on 5/24/2005
New “FSU Student Email search” Bb module ready for production release; “FSU People Search” in development (these both use “directory.fsu.edu” LDAPs).
CARS ßà FSUID status:

Have a working development version of “Activate my FSUID” web page that will also create CARS accounts for an individual if they are eligible (both garnet & mailer). Note that this requires a CARS UUID to pre-exist in CARS and a UUID-only FSUID to exist in the eDir.
Hope to go “live” with this version before 5/25/2005!.

Mechanism for creating UUIDs from newer HR/student data
Mechanism for setting free dialup access
Mechanism for vacation notification
Mechanism for setting email forwarding
Mechanism for setting email privacy flag
Secure channel for all PL/SQL traffic
Tweaks to load-mods-mds.pl (disable FSUID creation of non-UUID CARS accounts so inadvertent “renames” don’t occur)

FSUID ßà Win AD identity management work for UCS TEC, US WSG & College of Medicine. TEC is in production; College of Medicine & WSG are in test.
“Bb as Portal”: IS has switched both development (wussup.oddl.fsu.edu à devo3.ais.fsu.edu) and staging (staging.campus.fsu.edu à bbstaging.ais.fsu.edu) environments to Bb logins. Both of these hit MDSDEV for authentication. Will switch production (campus.fsu.edu à apps.oti.fsu.edu) at 6 AM on Tuesday, May 24^th. Will also continue the rewriting of FSUID Perl pages into native Bb Java/JSPs.

Person with an official FSU affiliation (FSUCard #) follows “Activate my FSUID” link from campus.fsu.edu and goes to new FSUID/CARS “create” page
Person with an official FSU affiliation who has forgotten their password goes to existing FSUID “log in with a different identity” page.

Visitor who has forgotten their password goes to the FSUID “email me a link to my password” page (https://fsuid.fsu.edu/cgi-bin/identity/visitorPassword.cgi).
A “forgot your password” routing page, where a person types in their FSUID, would be great to route the poor human to the proper page by sending “email-style” FSUIDs (visitors) to visitor password, others to official password reset.
