Status
- CARS password rules == FSUID password rules.
- FSU AD cert created and migrated to
med.ad.fsu.edu; Med School people who associate their COM
Outlook/Exchange account can now reset their passwords on the FSUID page!
- Brought up new Secure Login page with native
FSUID support. Working an issue
regarding alumni who aren’t eligible for CARS account (FSUcard type 18);
will populate their eDir entry with FSUcard type and then give them a
visitor-style email address FSUID.
- Working integration issues with Secure Login
(“Manage Login Information” link within SL <=> FSUID web page); will have a redirect
URL/FSUID password scheme within a week (eventually this will be done
seamless via CAS).
- Continuing to provide CARS user functions in
FSUID – added ability to check and reset forwarding for UCS accounts
(see new “FSUID Email Forwarding” page off of the “Email Address List”).
- Next Big Event for FSUIDs: “go live” of
PeopleSoft HR in mid-December.
Will need to make sure an HR extract from PS is available as it is
today from HRMS to continue to feed the eDir with employee identities.
- Lost mdsoti.fsu.edu as a master replicant on
10/10/04; spent the past 1 & ½ week getting it back on-line –
udbprod.uc.fsu.edu is now the master.
Also “retired” mdsacns.fsu.edu and replaced it with
radius1.acns.fsu.edu. All firewall
holes finally punched (including the ERP ones) so all five eDirs can see
each other.
- Upgraded eDir software from 8.7.3.1 to 8.7.3.2
plus two other patches.
- Populated fsuEduFsuSN field (the “FSUSN”) for
existing FSUIDs; working out last glitches on the INSERT trigger for new
FSUIDs so all have one. Go look
yours up J.

- Continue to write equivalent functionality of
CARS user functions at https://cars.acns.fsu.edu/CARS/account_maintenance.html
into the FSUID pages.
- Develop two way reliable CARS <=> FSUID “RPC” mechanism (needed to eliminate the
CARS => FSUID “load lag” and to provide all CARS user functions in
FSUID).
- Need to develop “departmental Helpdesk” user
management pages and a “departmental super user” LDAP account for
departmental use (Film School is still very interested)
- [UCS,
IS] Integrate FSUID management closer to CARS (e.g., when person
changes CARS password or user name, immediately
change it in the eDir!)
- [IS]
Write web-based documentation explaining how to use eDir for
authentication (pure LDAP, UNIX passwd file, RADIUS, Apache auth_ldap,
etc.)
- [IS] Write Perl “LDAP failover”
module; get mod_perl working on fsuid.fsu.edu.
- [IS, ODDL] Connect C.A.S. to
Secure Login, Blackboard & FSUID, all pointing to eDir.
- [Group – longer term] Continue
working SSN => FSNSN replacement discussions with campus.
- Populate/associate Novell account information
into eDir (still need a Novell
proxy admin account))
