The algorithm for Associating Active Directory Accounts has been changed
May 8, 2006

The algorithm for Associating Active Directory Accounts has been changed.

The problem was: in some cases, [WindowsUserID]@[WindowsHostName] is not the corresponding email address and there are cases where there are multiple valid SMTP addresses. In such cases we were not properly displaying the user’s email address or addresses.

The solution:
The value in fsuEduAdSamaAccountName will be same as before, i.e., [WindowsUserID]@[WindowsHostName].
The value in fsuEduAdMail will contain [WindowsUserID]-->[WindowsMailAddress] if the WindowsMailAddress exists in the Windows account, otherwise the value will be [WindowsUserID]-->[WindowsUserID]@[WindowsHostName].
Both values will be updated when a user associate/exclude an account.

For example, Windows UserID: tsk02d, host name: @admin.fsu.edu, email address: tsking@admin.fsu.edu. The value of fsuEduAdSamaAccountName will be "tsk02d@admin.fsu.edu". The value of fsuEduAdMail will be "tsk02d-->tsking@admin.fsu.edu".
