ssn.pl resides on mdsdata.uc.fsu.edu.  This nightly script uses our extract file from OMNI and the hrmsid as a primary key to detect social security number changes. 

This nightly script also uses a table named FSSAS.STUDENT_ID_AUDIT that resides on NWRDC and is maintained by Doug Boline.  This table shows changes to a student's social security number in the format old SSN, new SSN, and date of change.

When a social security number changes it is updated in the eDir and CARS simultaneously.  Employee Social Security numbers take precedence over Student Social security numbers; thus if there were a change in both places the Social Security Number from OMNI would be used.
