Secure Login/Secure Web Applications to switch from Webname to FSUID for authentication
The Office of Technology Integration is spearheading an effort to reduce the dizzying
array of electronic identities required to do business as an employee or student.
OTI is also working towards continuing the reduction in the use of Social Security
numbers as unique identifiers. To this end, a new Florida State University Identity
(FSUID) was introduced last Spring and your FSUID is the current identity everybody
uses to log into the OMNI/PeopleSoft Financials gateway. The use of FSUIDs will
continue to expand as new and old applications are switched to using this new identity.
FSUIDs are automatically assigned to faculty, staff, and students, and uniquely
identify each person. Your FSUID will be your logon ID for many Florida State University
web applications, including OMNI/PeopleSoft and the web-based secure applications
known as Online Personalized Services. The secure, self-service FSUID management
website is at https://fsuid.fsu.edu. From there,
you may activate and reset or synchronize many of your Florida State University computer
account passwords and view information about your email addresses.
On October 15th, 2004, all faculty, staff and students will begin using FSUID and
password to log on to Online Personalized Services (Secure Login) at
https://apps.oti.fsu.edu/SecureLogin/login.
You can find out more about how this will impact you at
https://fsuid.fsu.edu/documents/securelogin.html.
On December 17th, 2004, all Florida State University faculty and staff will begin
using FSUIDs to log on to OMNI at
https://www.aim.fsu.edu for Human Resources.
For more information about FSUID, please visit
https://fsuid.fsu.edu or contact Jeff Bauer, Director of Administrative
Information Systems, jtbauer@fsu.edu, 644-0266.
